Vivo is primarily known for making slim Smartphones as it recently launched the world’s slimmest Smartphone X5 Max with just 4.5mm thickness. Now, company is trying its hands on the power segment as it announced two new Smartphones at an event in China. The Vivo has launched first Smartphone XPlay5 Elite with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 processor. While another one is XPlay5 which sports 4GB RAM.
In terms of specs, the XPlay5 Elite flaunts a 5.43 inch Quad HD AMOLED dual curve edge display (1440×2560 pixels) coated with a layer of Corning Gorilla glass 3. Under the hood is a Quad core Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor clocked at 2.15GHz well its sound astonishing but there’s more lined up. The processor is backed by colossal 6GB of RAM and Adreno 530 GPU.
For storage, it comes with 128GB of non expandable storage. In the camera segment, Vivo XPlay5 bears a 16 Megapixel rear unit with dual tone LED flash, PDAF, Sony powered IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lens. For Selfie and video calling, it offers 8 Megapixel front facing camera with f/2.4 aperture.
Another USP of the device is that there is a fingerprint sensor on board and it runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box wrapped under Funtouch OS 2.6. A 3600mah battery keeps the device running.
It packs with bunch of sensors such as ambient light, gyroscope, proximity and gravity. For connectivity, it supports 4G LTE, bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/n/ac, GPS, Micro USB OTG, LTE radios, dual band Wi-Fi.
The sibling XPlay5 gets similar specs, hardware such as cameras, OS, screen size except for the processor and RAM. It is powered by a Snapdragon 652 SOC clocked at 1.4GHz and assisted by 4GB of RAM. Both the devices will go on sale in China from 8th March 2016 while there is no word its availability for other markets yet.
