Finally, after various rumors and leaks Samsung launched the all new Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018). The phones offer a great combination of stylish design and user experience. The devices bring company’s infinity display to mid-range price section. Both the smartphones use super AMOLED panel with 2220×1080 pixel resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio.
Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) specifications:
Both the phones seem to be successors of the Samsung’s Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017). Galaxy A8 features a 5.6 inch full HD display and Galaxy A8+ has a 6 inch super AMOLED display. The smartphones have curved glass protection on top of the infinity display panels, same as Galaxy S8 and S8+. The use of infinity display ensures that the devices support Gear VR. They run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and are powered by Octa-core processor with two chips of 2.2GHz and six cores at 1.6GHz. Galaxy A8 (2018) has a 4GB RAM and Galaxy A8+ comes in 6GB and 4GB RAM options, and they have 32 Gb and 64 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card.
Moving forward to camera specifications, the company has provided customers with two front-facing camera sensors on Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ (2018) for all selfie lovers! Both the phones have 16 Megapixel fixed focus and an 8 Megapixel sensor. Both the sensors offer many different effects like you can blur the background in your selfie to create a bokeh effect. In the dual camera setup, the two Smartphones have a 16 Megapixel camera sensor at the back. The back camera supports Video digital stabilization and has features including food mode and hyperlapse.
In the connectivity department, both the phones have NFC, MST, Bluetooth V5.0, Wifi, and ANT+. They support fast charging and have a type-c port. The sensors offered by the series are Barometer, Fingerprint, Gyro, Accelerometer, Geomagnetic sensor, Proximity sensor, Hall sensor and RGB Light sensor. The fingerprint sensor has been placed below the camera.
The Galaxy A8 has a 3000 mAh powerful battery and Galaxy A8+ has 3500 mAh battery. Both the devices are identical in terms of the camera look. The bigger phone Galaxy A8+ has a dimension of 159.9x 75.7 x 8.3 mm and weighs 191g. The Galaxy A8 has a 149.2 x 70.6 x 8.4 mm dimensions and weighs 172g.
