Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker tweeted that its mid-range mobile phone Oppo A83, which was unveiled in China in December will launch in India on Saturday, 20th January. The USP of the phone is its facial recognition feature and 18:9 aspect ratio display. Oppo assures that the phone can be unlocked within 0.18 seconds using 128 feature points on user’s face. Oppo A83 will be a great competition to Xiaomi Mi A1 and Honor 7X.
What to expect
Oppo A83 has an 18:9 aspect ratio 5.7 inches full HD and LCD display. The Smartphone is powered by an Octa-core processor- 2.5 GHz MediaTek 6763T. The device offers a 32GB expandable storage via microSD card. Additionally, the Chinese variant of the phone comes with 4 GB RAM and sources say that it will come with 3GB RAM in India.
In the camera section, Oppo A83 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front cameras for selfies, video calling and face unlock feature. It has a powerful battery of 3180mAh better than the model launched in China, but it misses the fast charging feature. On the connectivity department, the phone supports 4G, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB port, Bluetooth 4.2 and facial recognition.
Expected color variants
In China, the phone is available in two color variants – Black and Champagne, and according to the sources, both the variants will come in India as well.
Rumored Price
Though Oppo has not officially announced the phone’s price in India, we can expect it to be priced at INR 13,900 which is similar to China launch price of CNY 1,300 (roughly 13,900).
