BlackBerry has sent out invites for the launch of its first ever Smartphone ‘The Blackberry Priv’ which is slated to be launched on 28th January 2016 in India. No details regarding its price or availability have been disclosed by the company yet. Besides this launch, the Canadian Smartphone company might also expand its ecosystem of Android apps for its own OS.
Introduced in October last year, the Smartphone comes with a 5.4-inch QHD AMOLED dual-curved screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, corning Gorilla glass 4 protection and a pixel density of 540 dpi. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 Hexa-Core 64 bit processor assisted by 600MHz Adreno 418 GPU and massive 3GB RAM.
It bears 32GB of in-built storage which is further expandable up to 2TB via Micro SD card slot. It is fuelled by a 3410mah battery with fast charging capability and according to blackberry it can gives up to 22 hours of talktime. It carries an 18MP camera at rear with OIS (optical image stabilization); dual tone LED flash, PDAF and it can record 4K video as well. It also gets 2MP front facing camera capable of HD video recording.
Connectivity options on board are 4G LTE, USB 2.0 slim port, bluetooth 4.1 LE, MIMO, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi direct. The Smartphone bears number of pre-loaded blackberry applications such as DTEK made for privacy and security of the Smartphone, blackberry password keeper, blackberry notes and BBM. It also packs in sensors like proximity sensor, altimeter, gyroscope, altimeter, activity monitor and magnetometer.
