Before launching Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Explore Edition there were rumors that the company will launch four SD845-powered smartphones. While three smartphones were launched there was no word on the fourth device, however, it seems like the smartphone has finally arrived online as people at XDA Developers have managed to get alleged firmware files for the fourth handset. As per the reports, an Indian and global variant of the POCOPHONE could be in works.
As per the sources, the fourth smartphone is codenamed Beryllium in the firmware files and it might possibly be the upcoming POCOPHONE. According to the leak, the smartphone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 processor and it will sport a notch-based LCD display. The handset might get a powerful 4000 mAh battery and Android 8.1 Oreo. Other features could include a fingerprint sensor, dual cameras, non-expandable battery and NFC.
The POCOPHONE is expected to be a high-end smartphone with 18:9 display.
Also, XDA reveals that they saw two firmware files namely “Beryllium” and “Beryllium global”, the firm hints at India-specific models owing to two entries in MIUI camera application dubbed “isIndiaBeautyFilter” and “getDualCameraWatermarkFilePathVendor”.
Therefore, we can assume that the upcoming smartphone that has been codenamed Beryllium could get an India-specific variant with the beautify mode. The fact that we think it could be the much-rumored POCOPHONE is the use of E10 in the model. Though it is still only a speculation, it is very much possible that India could be the launchpad for the upcoming Xiaomi POCOPHONE.
