Gionee has launched its new Flagship S plus in India, priced at Rs. 16,999 it is also the company’s first device to feature USB Type-C port in the country. The Smartphone is touted as ‘only for India’ device which will go on sale sometime this week. The S plus comes in White, golden and dark blue color shades. It also sports a face Unlock feature, which allows user to unlock the device in less than second with face recognition.
Gionee S Plus, the successor of Elife S7 sports a 5.5 inch HD super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood is a 64-bit Octa Core Mediatek MT 6753 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and aided by 3GB RAM and Mali T720GPU. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Gionee’s Amigo 3.1 UI on top.
Gionee S Plus comes with 16GB of in-built storage which is further expandable via Micro SD card up to 64GB. On camera front, it has a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and at front you get a 5MP snapper to ensure high quality Selfies and Video chat.
The Dual SIM handset boasts of 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options. It packs in with a 3150mah battery which supports fast charging technology.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, “We have introduced the all new S Plus especially in India this Diwali to meet all the expectations that our consumers are asking for. In fact, the all new S Plus is equipped with new features like Face Unlock that would help consumers unlock there device in less than a second.”
