As promised, HTC has launched its flagship Smartphones U Play and U Ultra in India which were announced last month. Both U Play and U Ultra come at a staggering price of Rs. 39,990 and Rs. 59,990 respectively. The U range is equipped with HTC sense companion which analyse user’s daily activity, routine and adapt accordingly. U Ultra is the brand’s first device to sports secondary screen over the primary display.
Both gets home button integrated fingerprint sensors with biometric voice unlock and control functions. HTC has shed off the 3.5mm audio jack for USB Type-C mode. HTC’s Sense companion can unlock the device via voice at up to 2 meter range, it also recommends good restaurant and warns you about weather.
HTC U Ultra
The Flagship U Ultra flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 on top while the secondary display showcase frequent used apps, reminders etc. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor linked to 4GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The phone holds 64GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 2TB via a Micro SD card. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with HTC sense UI on top.
The camera segment includes a 12MP Ultrapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, 1.55um pixels, Laser AF, OIS and 4K video recording. Up front is a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and UltraPixel mode. The Smartphone bears a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging and power saving mode. It claims to deliver up to 26 hours of talk-time and up to 13 days of standby time.
For connectivity, U Ultra includes 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, DLNA, NFC, Miracast, HTC Connect and USB 3.1 Type-C. It also comes with HTC U Sonic, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition, 3D Audio recording with 4 microphones. The Smartphone will be available in Brilliant Black, Sapphire Blue Black and Cosmetic Pink colors.
HTC U Play
HTC U play has a 5.2 inch Full HD Super LCD display with screen resolution of 1920*1080 pixels and Gorilla glass protection. Under the hood is an Octa core Mediatek Helio P10 processor which is clubbed with 4GB RAM and Mali T860 GPU. It comes with 64GB of expandable internal storage.
The camera segment holds a 16 Megapixel primary rear camera with dual tone LED flash, OIS, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and BSI sensor. Up front is a 16MP camera with BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 28mm focal length. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with HTC touch UI on top but it is likely to get Nougat update soon. Connectivity options on board are 4G LTE with VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, DLNA, Miracast and USB 2.0 Type-C.
HTC U Play is fuelled by a 2500 mAh battery with fast charging support and rated to deliver up to 15 hours of talktime and 427 hours of standby time. It supports fingerprint sensor on its home button. It can be had in Iceberg White, Black Oil, Indigo Blue and Cosmic Pink Gold colors.
